“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Faith.Fellowship.Fun. Welcome to the St. Matthew Youth Group page! We are an active and welcoming community of middle and high school students who come together to grow in faith, serve others, and build lasting friendships. Through gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, service projects, and fun social events, we're creating a space where teens can be themselves, connect with others, and live out their faith with confidence.

All youth grades 6-12 are invited to join the youth group. Click here  to register.

Come hang out, have fun, and grow in faith.

Steubenville 2026: Worship • Prayer • Community

The St. Matthew and St. Mary's youth had the incredible opportunity to attend Steubenville Mid-America 1 in Springfield, Missouri, from July 10 to 12, and what an unforgettable weekend it was!

More than 5,000 Catholic teenagers from across the country gathered for one purpose: to encounter Jesus Christ. Throughout the weekend, our teens experienced powerful worship, inspiring keynote speakers, dynamic music, daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and meaningful opportunities for prayer and reflection. They also formed lasting friendships with other young Catholics who share their faith.

The conference challenged our youth to deepen their relationship with Christ and reminded them that they are never alone in their journey of faith. Many returned home renewed, inspired, and eager to continue growing in their faith while serving their parish communities.

A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors, parishioners, the Knights of Columbus, Women Working for God, our chaperones, and everyone who supported our fundraisers throughout the year. Your generosity made this life changing experience possible for our youth, and we are deeply grateful for your support.

We are already looking forward to next year's Steubenville Conference! The 2027 theme, "Seen," reminds every young person that they are fully seen, deeply known, and unconditionally loved by God.

If you have a student entering high school who would like to receive information about next year's trip and fundraising opportunities, please contact Carin Crampton. We can't wait to see what God has in store for another amazing year!

 Holy Hour and Dinner

The Youth Group and their families recently attended Deacon Mark’s Holy Hour and enjoyed dinner together afterward. It was a wonderful evening filled with prayer, community, and good food.

Church Tour

During our most recent youth group gathering, the youth participated in a guided tour of the church, where they learned about its history and the construction of the building. Huge thanks to Mr. Holdcroft for joining us for dinner and for showing us around!

Outings

Thanksgiving Bowling

Over Thanksgiving break, 20 youth from our youth group came together for a fun-filled afternoon of bowling. The day was full of laughter, friendly competition, and meaningful conversation, providing a wonderful opportunity for our youth to strengthen friendships and celebrate community. Events like this remind us of the importance of fellowship, gratitude, and the joy of spending time together outside of our regular activities.

Bellevue Berry Farm

Our youth had an amazing time at Bellevue Berry Farm! From exploring the haunted house and taking the haunted hayride to roasting s’mores and hot dogs around the campfire, it was a night full of laughter, adventure, and fellowship. It was such a blessing to see our young people growing in friendship and in Christ as they shared these special moments together. We are grateful for the great turnout and for all the chaperones who helped make this outing possible. We look forward to our next youth ministry adventure!

Service

Our youth group and confirmation candidates volunteered at the Heartland Hope Mission food pantry. It was a meaningful opportunity to serve, learn, and share God’s love with our community.
